Goodwood Motor Circuit reached its peak between 1948 and 1966 and was the scene of some of the most exciting races of the track period. around what today is Goodwood airfield, but during World War II, was known as Westhampnett and has been an important base for combat operations during the battle is Britain. this airfield that Douglas Bader flew what would be his last mission in the war that ended in his capture after down. was murdered a few years ago, his widow, Mrs. Bader, unveiled a life-size statue of the former commander of the squadron that as a mute witness to the beating and festivities who continue to keep the site alive.
